Vertex BPO Opening


Friday, March 02, 2012:  Vertex, the UK-based business process outsourcing solutions provider, has plans to expand its operations in India. The BPO company will increase its headcount from current 5,000 to 12,000 in the next one year. It will also be setting up five support centres in addition to the 12 existing ones.

Keshav C. Gaur, managing director and chief executive officer, Vertex Customer Services India, said, “At present, we have 12 support centres in India including the one in Hyderabad, which is recently commissioned. We plan to add five more centres in the next 12 months which will serve the company's exiting clients and also add new clients.” The company caters to clients from sectors including telecom, banking, financial services and insurance, energy and other segments. Vertex also has its centres in the US and Canada.
Addressing a media while making this announcement along with Gurpal Singh, chief operating officer, and Sharad Sharma, human resources director in India, Gaur said that the company will focus on India operations majorly during this year. He said that the Indian BPO industry is undergoing a consolidation phase where regional players are either getting merged with others or getting acquired.

He said, “We will invest about Rs 30-40 million in each new centre. We will also introduce some new services in sectors like energy in India. We aim to provide local BPO services in the country that include some aspects of knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) too.”

He informed that Vertex has set up some multi-lingual teams which suit the the requirements across different states. Gaur said, “These multi-lingual teams will help us in serving major customers in India. We also hope to play a role in the UID project.”
